Every Race Lottery: Open Date, Close Date, Race Day

This is the public-draw list: marathons, halves, and the one 10K that fills general entry by lottery rather than first-come. Race day is the next running. Open and close dates are published, or the same days the year before the race. A same-days row is a planning date. Confirm it when the organizer posts the window.

Boston is not a public lottery. Qualifier registration for April 19, 2027 ran September 14–18, 2026. About 1,000 extra spots are drawn only from qualifiers who miss the cutoff. Comrades still requires a marathon qualifier. The September window was the general ballot, and about half the field goes that way.

Same days, the year before the race

These next windows are not posted. The dates are the last draw, set on the year before the upcoming race.

Hackney, Bath, Brighton, and Oxford run public ballots. Their last windows were not published as exact days, so those rows stay on the month. Rotterdam uses a hybrid draw and has not posted the next window. Amsterdam has been general registration, not a draw. Marine Corps, Houston, and most U.S. city marathons sell out first-come.

City notes: Chicago, Berlin, Sydney, New York, Boston, London, Tokyo, Big Sur.
