Races near me

This page is the same for everyone, so it can't know where you are. The race search can narrow to your area: its Near filter keeps a city and a radius (50 miles unless you change it), and on a first visit it may start from an approximate city looked up from your internet connection. Prefer to browse? Every state's races are listed further down this page.

RaceRove currently lists 8,273 upcoming races with a confirmed date across all 50 states and Washington, DC, including 6,000 5Ks, 2,572 10Ks, 1,668 half marathons and 594 marathons. 601 of them are trail races.

Finding a race near you

Near means something different for every distance. A 5K or a 10K is worth a same-morning drive; a half marathon or a marathon can be worth a night away. Decide how far you'll go before you start looking, and the list stays short enough to read properly.

  • Pick a distance first. 5Ks are the commonest: RaceRove lists 6,000 upcoming 5Ks. There are 594 upcoming marathons, so expect to travel further for one of those.
  • Set the radius. The search's Near filter counts miles from the city you give it. Start at 50 and widen it when the list is short; a race just over a state line can be closer than one in your own state.
  • Check that the date is confirmed. A full date appears only when a race's own listing carries one. When the next edition hasn't been announced, you'll see the month it's usually held in instead.
  • Try a trail. 601 upcoming trail races are on the trail races page, state by state.

Whatever you pick, confirm the date, start time and registration on the organiser's own website before you book anything. Organisers set their own dates, and a listing can change after RaceRove last read it.

Common questions

How do I find races near me?
Open the race search from this page and set its Near filter to your city and how far you'll travel; it then keeps only the races inside that radius, at every distance. Or pick your state from the list on this page, which goes straight to that state's races, and narrow by distance from there.
Does RaceRove know where I am?
Not on this page: it's the same for everyone and doesn't use your location. The race search's Near filter uses a city you choose and a radius, kept in your browser. On a first visit the search may start from an approximate city looked up from your internet connection (no GPS and no permission prompt); you can change or clear it, and browsing by state works without it.
How many races does RaceRove list?
8,273 upcoming races with a confirmed date, and 18,079 active listings in all, counting annual races whose next date hasn't been announced yet. It doesn't claim to list every race in the country.
Which states have the most races?
By upcoming races listed: Florida (651), Texas (591), California (581), North Carolina (396) and Georgia (340).
Are trail runs included?
Yes. 601 upcoming races with a confirmed date are trail races by the search's Trail filter, and the trail races page lists them state by state.
How up to date are these listings?
Race organisers set their own dates, and listings can change. Always confirm the date, course and registration status on the race's own site before booking travel.
