How the challenge works

Know a race before you enter.

A race page puts what RaceRove knows in one place, and labels every estimate as one.

  • Course difficulty

Elevation gain, how hilly the course runs, and a PR score for how fast it tends to be.

  • Historical weather

Recorded conditions from past race days, kept apart from forecasts and climate averages.

  • Field size

Finishers at the last running: a big-city crowd or a small local start.

  • Registration status

Open, lottery or sold out, with a sellout risk where one can be estimated.

  • Location and travel

Where the start is, and estimated flight and hotel costs from your home city.

Coverage varies by race: each of these shows only when that race has it on file.

Keep what you find.

Searching needs no account. A free one keeps your races with you on every device.

  • Your saved races and race statuses, kept on every device
  • Saving and marking races from search cards and race pages
  • Importing races you've already run
  • A medal wall and a race journal

Everything you're wondering.

Do I need an account to search?

No. Search, the calendar, 50 states + map, race pages, compare, the quiz, the goal calculator and the blog all work without one. Without one, what you mark stays in this browser; an account keeps your saved and finished races on every device, plus the plans you want to come back to.

Is RaceRove free?

Yes. There is no paid plan and nothing asks for a card. An account needs only an email address; you sign in with a one-time link, so there is no password to remember.

Where does the race-day weather come from?

From recorded weather on past editions of that race, taken from a historical weather archive, when the race has it on file. A live forecast appears from two weeks before race day, for races with a confirmed date. The race page can also show long-run climate averages for the race's date and a seasonal estimate for the month and state, each labelled as what it is.

Are race dates and prices confirmed?

Not always. Many future dates are worked out from the last running and marked est., and prices are estimates unless the race's own range has been checked. Confirm on the race website before you book travel.

How many Ask AI questions are free?

Answering its goal questions, the ones it asks to help you pick a race, is free once on each device. After that, 100 questions are free without an account. Create a free account to keep asking.

Does it connect to Strava or my watch?

Not yet. Connecting Strava, Garmin, COROS, Suunto, Apple Health and Endorphins is coming soon. For now you log finishes yourself, or import them from a spreadsheet once you have an account.
