The Austin Marathon starts and finishes downtown near the Capitol and Congress Avenue. That avenue is the spectator plan.
Best places to stand
Congress Avenue, south of the finish chute, for the main view. A second look is possible on foot on the return stretch or South 1st. Driving the early west-side hills is a bad chase.
Transit
CapMetro or rideshare downtown. Congress closes. February mornings can still be cold; shade disappears later.
