A drink shows up the next morning more often than runners expect. Sleep is lighter. Resting heart rate is often a few beats higher. The easy run feels less easy. That is the whole observation. It is not a moral rule.
The next day
If the morning run was supposed to be easy, keep it easy or move it. Do not turn a flat morning into intervals to prove the night did not matter. One drink and a late night are enough to explain a low recovery score. They are not a reason to rewrite the month.
Race week
Race week is a poor time for a new pattern. If you drink, keep it to what you already know, and not the night before. The taper checklist is the rest of that week.
