About the John Holmes Trail Run
The John Holmes Trail Run is the Southeast's oldest 50K trail run, held since the early 1990s (as the Croom Trail 50K until 2006) on the Croom Hiking Trail in the Withlacoochee State Forest near Brooksville, Florida. All distances (50K, 16 Miler, 9 Miler) start and finish at the Tucker Hill Fire Tower, running rolling longleaf pine and scrub oak terrain past creek bottoms and cypress ponds, with the field capped at 250 runners.
