The Los Angeles Marathon is a point-to-point course from Dodger Stadium in Elysian Park to Century City. Spectators cannot reasonably chase the whole route by car. Pick one neighborhood base or the finish.

Best places to stand

Early miles through Chinatown and Echo Park offer good views after the stadium start. Hollywood Boulevard (Walk of Fame, Chinese Theatre) is one of the loudest stretches. Sunset Boulevard through West Hollywood and the Strip has energy and easier sidewalk access. The finish on Santa Monica Boulevard at Avenue of the Stars in Century City is the cleanest meetup.

  • Start area: Dodger Stadium (free parking opens early for participants; spectators better off elsewhere).
  • Hollywood / Sunset: Metro B Line (Red) gets you past street closures.
  • Finish: Century City. Metro E Line (Expo) is the reliable way in. Double-decker buses offer elevated seating in the Finish Festival.
  • Skip: driving between Hollywood and Century City on race morning.

Getting there

Use the Metro B Line for Hollywood viewing hubs and the E Line for the finish. Google Maps or Waze handle the rolling closures better than Apple Maps. Freeway ramps near the 101, 110, and 405 usually clear by mid-afternoon; surface streets reopen later. Pre-paid parking exists at Westfield Century City Mall and nearby garages, but arrive early and watch no-parking signs.

Where to meet

Agree on a spot outside the secure Finish Festival, or a short walk away (one common pickup is near Pico and Motor). Runners exit the chute and cannot linger at the line. Cell service is heavy near the finish. A text after they are out of the festival works better than a mid-race check-in.
