The Denver Colfax Marathon is largely an out-and-back on Colfax. Stay on one side of the course to avoid getting trapped. Spectators can see runners twice from the Capitol area.

Best places to stand

Official and local guides highlight Empower Field at Mile High (early and later), Sloan's Lake, the Colorado State Capitol (miles ~2.5 and ~24.5), 17th Avenue, and the City Park finish. Stay south of Colfax or north of 17th depending on the stretch.

  • Late: 17th Avenue.
  • Finish: City Park / Ferril Lake.
